No Spoilers

I think I am going to take a little break from a few things for a while.

I have this little ritual on Sundays where I pull tarot cards for the week. It’s usually a fun thing I do and I look forward to it. Except for last week. I pulled some cards that stressed me out, specifically, the Three of Swords. If you aren’t familiar with tarot cards at all, the image on that card is a giant heart with three swords going through it. I would post a picture but this card does not need anymore airtime. It’s not a pleasant card. So all week, I kept worrying and thinking about the damn card and was certain something horrible was going to happen.

I made it through the week without anything terrible happening. It actually ended pretty positively. So today, I went to pull my cards again, and guess who showed up.

Three of Swords.

As the theme of my week.

So I said screw this, put the deck away and didn’t even record anything or write anything down. I like to do tarot for fun, I don’t take it seriously, I don’t read too much into it typically.

However, I have some really exciting things going on right now, including a trip coming up that I’m really looking forward to. Unfortunately, whenever I get excited about something, my brain likes to start asking, Okay, things are going really well, so what bad thing is going to happen? I’m already perfectly capable of stressing myself out without giving my brain a handful of tarot cards to analyze too.

So no more cards for awhile. I want to focus more on working on my outline for book 2 and getting pulled back into that story. I don’t feel like sharing too much of my personal life either right now. I’d rather spend some time with my fictional characters instead.

I still want to keep this website active because I think it’s important as I move forward with my writing, but I’m trying to figure out what that looks like. Maybe I can share updates about where I’m at with the Book 2 outline, and eventually, the actual writing. I can talk about other book ideas I have (there are a couple!) or share more about whatever I happen to be reading. Would that be interesting enough to keep this website going? I guess we’ll find out. It’s all trial and error right now!

So, speaking of:

Book I’m reading: Blood of Hercules: Okay, this one is fun. I can’t quite keep track of the entire history that is involved but I don’t think it’s necessary because I’m still interested. It is loosely based on Greek mythology. The main character, Alexis, grew up with horrible adoptive parents and she recently discovered she may be the daughter of Zeus so she got shipped away to some academy. She has an invisible snake friend who only she can hear. The academy is awful and one of her instructors either is attracted to her or hates her. It’s very hard to explain but it’s a lot of fun. No romance or anything yet. I’m about 81% through so I will probably finish it within the next few days. I think there are only two books in this series. So far, I recommend!

Anyway, have a great week!
