In My Head
Weekly Tarot Spread… my Sunday ritual
I’ve been slacking a bit on my writing.
I took the 4th of July week off because of the holiday, and last week I just didn’t feel like writing. I have a few blogs written that I could post, but I’m not really feeling any of them. I don’t like sharing something if it no longer resonates with me, so I was trying to think of something else I could do.
I figured I’d try something a little different, so I can still write, share and do what I love, but without the pressure of coming up with these deep soul-searching essays every week. Because honestly, I’m not always that deep, and trying to force something that isn’t there takes the fun out of writing.
So, in between my deeper thoughts, I can just post a weekly little update…kind of like a letter to a friend.
So here goes!
I am taking this Wednesday off work because I have a dentist appointment, just a cleaning thankfully. I had a lot of issues with my teeth when I was in my twenties because I didn’t have insurance. I found the dentist I go to now during all that, and he was the first dentist that was kind, patient, and was able to put together a plan to get everything all fixed up. Now he is an hour and a half away so I make the drive because I trust him. I figured I would just take the whole day off since I have vacation days that I rarely use.
My silks series starts back up on Thursday, so I’m excited about that. I haven’t done any aerial in two weeks so I’m sure I’ll feel it Friday, but it will be a good ache. Aerial is one of those things that is always a little miserable at first because we spend the first 45 minutes of class basically just exercising, which I very much dislike. But once we get up in the air, it’s so worth it. I am always confused for the majority of the class and find new ways to incorrectly do things, but when I finally get the move, it’s exhilarating. So I’m really looking forward to getting back to it this week!
Other than that, it’s shaping up to be a pretty quiet week, which honestly isn’t a bad thing. My weekly cards seem to be encouraging me to slow down, stay present, and let things unfold instead of trying to figure everything out ahead of time. I think that’s probably a good reminder for me!
Book I’m reading:
On Wings of Blood … I have about 30 pages left so I plan to finish this today. I would rate it about 4 stars. It’s part of a series so I’ll be starting book 2: The Bond That Burns
It’s basically about a woman who somehow got dropped into a vampire world, I’m still not sure how that happened. But she got bonded to a vampire prince who she “hates” but is very attracted to. She’s apparently a dragon rider but there are no dragons. It’s a little all over the place honestly. It’s a fun read though and hopefully it will clear up a bit as the series goes on.
That’s about all for now! Enjoy your week-
Xoxo
